Fighting the Holiday Blues

Although Christmas is meant to be a happy and joyful time, this isn’t how everyone feels at this time of the year. For many men suffering from erectile dysfunction, the holidays can often exert extra pressure on their ability to perform.
The primary causes of psychologically based impotence include stress, anxiety and fatigue, emotions which are experienced in abundance over the Christmas season. The expense of buying gifts, the pressure of last minute shopping and the heightened expectations of family togetherness all combine to undermine a mans ability in the bedroom. Stress can override even the strongest of libidos and many despair following a bout of ED. This can result in further sexual problems, hence more anxiety. This is called the “impotence domino effect” of anxiety - failure - more anxiety - more failure.
Most men will experience psychological ED at least once in their adult life, so it’s important to know that an occasional episode is not a diagnosis for on-going erectile dysfunction. In most cases, isolated episodes are more likely to be due to fatigue, stress or an over-indulgence in alcohol than an underlying physical cause. There’s no need to shroud ED in shame and secrecy. Since the advent of ED treatments such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra there’s no reason why you can’t be naughty and nice this Christmas. ED doesn’t respond well to neglect and it can have a profound effect on the quality of a man’s life and that of his partners. Holidays are an important time for family togetherness. ED treatments can provide the necessary confidence boost and support that a man needs to bolster his Christmas spirit, enabling him and his partner start off the new year on the right footing.
